Consequent to political events, climate change, and emerging technologies, the recent years have witnessed major developments and challenges in the field of energy. Dealing satisfactorily with these challenges and moving closer to the achievements of the universally accepted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires close collaboration among scientists, engineers, and policymakers at national and international levels.
